Kreston Reeves supporting UK technology at British Embassy event in Helsinki
On 29 October 2015, Michael O’Brien, Partner and Head of Technology at Kreston Reeves, presented at the British Ambassador’s residence in Helsinki to an invited group of Finnish technology companies looking to grow their businesses by expanding into the UK.
The event was titled “Software Meets Business” and was created by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) to highlight the huge opportunity for Information Communications Technology companies in the UK. The British Ambassador to Finland, Sarah Price, kindly hosted the event at her residence, which was attended by 60 delegates from the Finnish Technology sector. Keynote speakers at the event included the Head of Technology for UKTI, who spoke about the UK as an inward investment destination for technology businesses, the lead technologist from Innovate UK, the UK’s innovation agency, who detailed the UK’s funding landscape, and Michael O’Brien, who talked through the considerations and benefits of setting up and doing business as a technology company in the UK.
What was clear to Michael from his trip to Helsinki was the great talent and innovation coming out of technology companies in the region.
This trip came about due to the firm’s close relationships with Tech City and its membership of the UK Advisory Network, UKTI’s panel of professional services firms, which it recognises as being experts in international business.
